So I attempted to file my unemployment claim by phone on Monday. In case you weren't aware, the ant sized state of Rhode Island has THE highest unemployment rate in the USA at 9.3%, which is HIGHER than the national average.
Again, I ask myself: "self, why the F**K DO YOU LIVE HERE?"
I called ALL DAY LONG. I got recording after recording telling me that due to heavy call volume, my call could not be received at this time. Please call back later.
I did. Again and again and again. ALL F**KING DAY. Same message.
I filed online. It look three hours and will probably be declined because my income (base+commission) is often difficult for ANYONE to understand and I couldn't talk to a live human being DUE TO HEAVY CALL VOLUME.
ARRRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!
In the meantime, I continue to apply for jobs, most of which I am grossly overqualified for, and no one calls me back.
Sorry for the all caps. I have pent up anger.
On a happier note, I just love Pink's new album "Funhouse." It's amazing. If you have a job with steady income, you should buy it.
I just listen to snippets online because I'm poor, due to heavy call volume.
