For those of us who are laid-off or about to be laid-off...

Ahhh I love it! :) Although I must say that I am quite proud of myself for resisting the temptation to go on the usual "I just got laid off" two week bender.

Mostly because I couldn't afford a two week bender...

Jonas and I have like, refinanced our house to ENSURE that we always have enough money for our benders...
J/K, but really, that's awesome that you haven't been swallowed up by the forces that be. I'm proud of you too!
What a crazy time this is, really. What a hot, steamy mess. It hadn't touched me personally until recently, so all along I was like - sweet, I'm like totally above the economic crisis! Yay!
But now, I'm all up in it, like Jonas on boobs.
But, in all honesty, I'm less worried about it all than I probably should be.
I'm taking a VOLUNTARY lay-off. That's WACK! Who does that in these times?!?!? HA! SARAH DOES!!!
I think it all really depends on you and where you are and what you personal situation is. This lay-off is like a gift for me. It couldn't have come at a BETTER time - not a WORSE time. I just so happened to have set myself up sort of subliminally, or subconsciously, or something to be actually prepared for this.
Not really even prepared, so much as ready.
I needed a change, I wanted a change, I made moves toward a change, and what do you know? Change landed in my lap.
So, I'm glad we're all going through this. You - Laura, me, Bethie, everyone. I feel so strongly that this is NOT unlike anything us gals haven't already gone through. We are more than capable of dealing with something as monumental as said crisis, and to doubt ourselves for a single moment would be laughably ridiculous, seriously.

bender, pishhhhh, you don't know a bender. you know my uncle charlie used to go on like two month benders. one time he was coming back and statie, a state trooper, pulled him over. statie comes up to the car pulls him out, my uncle pukes on his shoes, he's over the freakin' limit, hammered out of his gourd. then suddenly statie hears a boom and gets spooked (he got shot?). ok i can't remember it all. i'm fucking wasted.
